The Revealing of My Birthday Surprise!

So I will finally tell you my birthday surprise for this weekend! My parent's told me on my birthday that they would give me one hundred dollars...but there was a catch: I could either spend it on whatever I wanted or spend it on gasoline. They asked why I might want to spend it on gasoline and I thought back, I had been wanting to go to a norwegian fjord horse farm 5 hours from our house. You know what fjord horses are right? You know like my horse Gypsy, the horses that are rare? Well if you don't just Google the words "norwegian fjord horse" for information and pictures too! Well, anyway, I said I wanted to just go for that long boring car ride just to look at these beautiful creatures! So yesterday (Friday) we set out with the truck and horse trailer since my dad had to pick up wood for working on fences.

So we went 2 hours and satyed the night in a hotel. Thid morning we got up early and drove about 3 hours and then we arrived at the farm! I saw the beautiful, calm, creatures run up to us as their owner called them. There were about 17 of them!!! I immediataly fell in love with a very friendly 6 1/2 moth old one named Pamela (whose name actually fits her very well!).

It was funny because just then my mom and dad told me that little baby Pamela was mine!They said they had planned it for weeks and they just wanted to surprise me! I shed a few tears of joy as I hugged Pamela's thick neck and breathed in the horse-scent of hair. I thanked my parents so much! We took so many pictures of her and all of her friends and family! It turned out we weren't getting wood but putting little Pam in the trailer and heading home! I couldn't believe she was mine !!!!! So, right now I am on my way home and I am on the laptop and I can't wait to get home and see her again! So here are some of my pictures:

Halloween Costumes

What are you going to be for Halloween? You want to know what I am going to be??? Ok then............a banana!!! LOL I am going to wear my costume, black sweatpants and a sweatshirt, and paint my face yellow, then I am going to carry my 7-month old nefew, Justin who will be dressed as a monkey!!! I can't wait! Over the weekend when I went camping I went on a 7 hour trail ride on Gypsy and there were 16 other people all riding mules (ya know, like a mix of a donkey and a horse?)! Gypsy was the only horse! She didn't even know the mules and neither did I or know the people. Everyone was very nice and all a lot older than me but it was still so fun seeing the mules with their long ears then looking down at little Gypsy with short ears! Then, the next day I got to ride one of the mules! It was so fun, she was a cute little grey one named Pepper Anne! :) I will tell you guys what my birthday present is (that I will be doing this weekend) on Thursday, probably.

So back to what I said, what are you going to be for Halloween?

Gone Camping!

I just wanted to post to tell you guys that I will probably not be bloging until Monday or Tuesday becuse we are going camping this weekend! Well actually from later today to sometime Monday! The last time we went camping we went on a 4 hour trail ride and we got to go through water almost to the horses' stomachs! We go and ride our horses in the Shawnee National Forest as often as we can. :) If I take some pictures I will post them for sure! October 2nd (Sunday) was my 12th birthday! I didn't do much but my best friend Maddie stayed the night and I got presents from her and my grandparents but my best birthday present was from my parents! I am not even going to tell you what it is yet! I will make it a surprise, I will probably post seometime around next weekend so I can upload the pictures! Here is a hint: It involves horses (of course!)! I haven't been posting lately because I have been busy but I will post more often. :) I get a four day weekend this week! No school Thursday or Monday and we are going camping to trail ride horses! Can't wait! Tomorrow at school I have marching band pictures. With the band I have been marching in a lot of parades lately! I will post soon!!!

I took some new pictures of Oliver on my phone and sent them to my email so the pictures' quality and colors aren't that good, they are kind of dark and a little blury. But I liked them anyway. Oliver is the sweetest hamster ever! And the most adorable too! If anyone else has small animals (i.e. hamster, guinea pig, rat, chinchilla, hedgehog, gerbil, etc.) I reccomend making an account at smallanimalchannel.com! I have a page for Oliver and am going to make some for my rabbits soon too! You can get points on there for logging in, participating in polls and quizzes, and more. Then, when you get enough points you can exchange them for something for your pets! You can get things like animal food and treats for free when you exchange the points. So here are the pictures:

What I Have Been Doing Lately!

If you are wondering what I have been doing lately (hint from the title Haha!) I have been going to school, riding Gypsy, bottle feeding Piglet (even though he should already be weaned from the bottle a LONG time ago!), doing homework, taking pictures, thinking of blog post ideas, watching Frank (the fish), and playing with Oliver (the hamster)! On Sunday my family, my friend Erin, and I went to a fair to ride fun rides and my dad had to go for his work and we got to eat there in one of the big tents. Me and ERin rode so many rides! We rode one of those rides that looks like a big boat and swings back and forth really high like at least seven times! We also rode the "Super Shot" Which goes really really really high in the air and drops super fast! So, what have you been doing lately?

Frank the Fish

I got a fish today! He is a crown tail betta fish! I named him Frank and he is teal and red. I took some pictures but they aren't the best because it is very hard to take pictures of something in water through a fish bowl! We went to Walmart today and bought Frank, his food, some stuff for his water, and his bowl! His bowl is really neat because it has a light hanging over it so you can see him better! I have some little colored decorative stones and I put light and dark blue ones in his bowl and they look really pretry and bring out his colors! So here are the pictures, the last I took so you can see what the stones look like. :)

Dreamer At The Pet Parade!

I took my 27 inch tall mini horse Dreamer to the pet parade at the fair in out town! It is more of a pet show though. It was Sunday and my sister made her tutu really quick in the morning. She also wore tons of sparkle spray on her and had a tiara on and had bows in her mane and tail and it was all pink!!! She had "bracelets" on too! There were a lot of pretty animals there like birds and they even had a duck and goat but mostly dogs! Dreamer was the only mini horse! She won 1st place in Best Dressed Pet, 2nd in Prettiest Pet, 1st in Showmanship, and the overall Best in Show trophy! We won 40 dollars. She did so good and just sat there and almost fell asleep! So here are some pictures!

About My Horses- Sunny

I am going to start making a series of posts about each of my horses! Today's horse is Sunny!

Here is some information about Sunny!

Sunny is a 30 year old buckskin horse. That is very old for a horse! He is still doing great but his teeth aren't that good so we have to soak his food in water before we give it to him. I rode him either last year or the year before in a parade and my sister rode him not too long ago and he has a lot of energy still! He was my mom's horse when she was my age and younger! She trail rode him and I used to trail ride him and he is a good horse for any riding! I have rode him in fun shows too and my mom did when she was little! I also have rode him a lot just around my house too for fun. When I was younger I rode on the back of him on a buddy seat behind me mom and he fell on a rock one time and didn't even move! He waited for us to get off because he is just such a sweet horse! So here is a picture of him!

The Story of The Name

I named this blog post the "The Story of The Name" as a funny way to tell you why my URL is www.ilovefjords.blogspot.com. It is because obviously I love fjords but you probably don't know what a fjord is! A fjord is a type of horse. The calmest, sweetest, and most fun to ride horses! My horse Gypsy is a norwegian fjord! She might not think she is one because of her long mane but she is but I just can't bring my self to cut her goregous mane! She is the most gentle and smooth horse you would ever ride! Saturday we(Me and Gypsy) won our first trophy! Well we were the only ones in the class though because it was for ponies and Gypsy is not a pony but a slightly short horse so she could pass for a pony! We went in the poles class and she trotted all through the poles and I couldn't get her to canter! She never canters she just likes to do her sweet walk and sometimes trot when I trail ride her! It was so funny! Then when we headed back to the gate she had to stop and "use the restroom"! It was so funny! The on barrels I tried to get her to go faster and we got to a canter! Even though we were the only ones in the class it wass so fun and the nice people there gave me a trophy and first place ribbon! So if you still want to know more a bout fjords please don't hesitate! New Hamster!

I got a new hamster! He is called a "teddy bear" hamster. He is white and very, very small! He is one of the cutest things I have ever saw! I don't know if I have ever said, but I love photography and take a lot of pictures of things other then my animals like flowers! Well, I wanted to start putting a picture I took along with some photography tips every now and then for a post. So this one's theme is texture. First, I want to say that this is not a good picture because I took it on my phone since I didn't have a camera around! It is a close up picture of the bark on a tree! Here are the tips for texture:

1.Make sure the picture is close up so you can see the texture better, if your camera's zoom is not so good then walk up close to the object.

2. Some things to photograph for texture would be tree bark, cookie dough, the waves of water, the ripples in ripple chips (haha!), fur (?), or some different foods.

3. If you like don't edit the picture just leave it how you did it, I never edit my pictures, mine are completely natural! :) But I do go to either picnic.com or paint and add my blog name now.

Where Are My Followers?

I am having problems with the follower stuff. Everytime I go to a blog it doesn't show a box for followers where the peoples' follower part is. What I mean is it doesn't bring it up. It is the same on my blog. I went to my dashboard and clicked my followers but it is blank. Does anyone else have this problem? It does show that I have 21 followers though. Could someone please tell me who my followers are? :)

Color Tag Made By Me!

I decided to make my own tag! It is about colors! You have to take a picture (or a few if you wish!) of some paint color sample strips like you get at WalMart or a paint store with either one or several shades of a certain color on it. If you don't know what mean comment. Or you can take a picture of something just that color if you can't get the other. Make sure there are two colors that you like together. I chose my favorites: pink and green. As you can tell by my blog colors! I took a neat close up picture of them and one together. Sorry they aren't very good I took them on my phone. Yesterday we got a new horse! His name is Vegas! He was a show horse and went to pretty big horse shows and won a lot! He is really pretty and I will get a picture soon if I can! Usually if you want a horse to trot you squeeze your heels a little but all you have to do is say "trot"! And to canter it is the same. :) If you do something else with your feet (I can't remember what) and say "pivot" and he will pivot! :D Also, and instead of of pulling back the reins to stop him you just lean back in the saddle. I thought that was so neat and really cool that he can do all of these things and more! I will try to get a picture if I can!

Today I got 2 white (they look yellow now but will be white when their bigger) girl chicks! I also got one turken!!! A turken is a mix of a chicken and a turkey! Here are some pictures! I'm not 100% sure on names yet but I will post when I know! Any ideas? The first one is of the turken: These are the white ones next! Sorry the pictures aren't the best I took them on my phone and sent them to my email and saved them on the computer.

I made up a random tag based on some questions I have saw on other tags. :) Here it is: Favorites: Food- Biscuits and gravy! Yum! Drink- Raspberry lemonade Animal- All! Especially horses and llamas. ;) Salad Dressing- I have alot! I like French dressing, Italian dressing, ranch, honey mustard, and raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Fruit-I like them all but probably strawberries. Vegetable- Broccoli or carrots dipped in spinach dip or ranch. Chips- Sour cream and onion chips. Soda- Vanilla caramel cream soda. Ice cream- Cookie dough blizzards from Dairy Queen! Sport- Horseback riding cheerleading or volleyball. Would You Rather...? Eat a bug or dirt? Neither!!! But dirt would be better than a bug! Get in "F" in one class and an "A" in all your other classes or get all "B's"? That's hard, maybe the one F but I don't know! I tag... any one who wants to do this!!! P.S. What is your favorite animal? I like alot of animals. My favorite 2 are dogs and giraffes. What is an animal you wish you could have? I would love to have a goat. What is your pet's favorite toy or game? My pet's favorite toy is her giant tennis ball. She also likes this other chew toy. If you could be an animal what animal would you be? Why? American Girl Magazine

Does anybody else read American Girl magazine? I got mine yesterday and it is the animal issue so it has some really cool animal posters and stories. If you did get it what's your favorite part? Since I have horses I saw that there was something about horses in it so I flipped to it first and there was a great true story in there about a girl and her horses. It is at the very bottom of the page on my blog and has a little number in it of how many people are on my blog. I might move it closer to to the top. Today I am going to post an interview about Izzy and her pets from www.beyondbunny.com! Thanks Izzy! Please stop by her blog and she has some cute pictures of her pets on there too! Do you have any pets? Yup, I have a chinchilla, a hedgehog, and 3 bunnies. Do you have a story about one of your pets (it can be something funny or really special)? Once my chinchilla Chilli was banging against her cage really hardThen there was a bang and the door was open and she was gone! We looked for her everywhere in the house. I saw the pantry door was open. My mom said that she had already checked in there. But anyhow, I opened the door and there was Chili, just sitting there, going, "Hmmm?????" What is your favorite animal? Probably a hedgehog. What is an animal you wish you had? Maybe a horse. Or a dog. But I kinda want a goat. I love goats. On your blog you said that you pet-sitted. What are some things you did with the pets when you pet-sitted them? Well, I fed them and let them go outside. And then I would throw them some toys outside for them to fetch, and I would rub their bellies or wherever they liked to be scratched. You said you have a hedgehog, is she easy to take care of? Does she like to be held? Well, she is pretty easy to take care of. The hard part is cleaning her wheel, because when she runs on it she goes to the bathroom. She doesn't mind being held, but if you hold her too long she'll probably poop on you! :) She sometimes falls asleep if you hold her in a pet bed though. :D

This post is about my horse Gypsy! Name: Gypsy Age: 10 Breed: Norwegian Fjord horse Other Info: Gypsy is a usually uncommon horse where I live. Her breed of horse originated in Norway a long time ago and vikings rode Norwegian Fjord horses. If you Google "Norwegian Fjord Horse Information" or pictures there are some really neat things. When I got Gypsy her owners told me that she was taught to pull a wagon so maybe some day I can have her do it! :) I trail ride Gypsy and ride her at home and in parades. The picture below is of Gypsy laying down after a trail ride! This is a picture of Gypsy in my towns Veteran's Day Parade, she also had on red, white, and blue hoof paint and saddle blanket and reins! I was the one riding her in the picture.

Miss Piggy and Bessie!

Today I am going to use Izzy's idea for doing a post about an animal but I am going to do two animals! Here is the first thing about the first pet: Name: Bemmie Age: 2 Breed: Don't know the exact breed of chicken. Other Info: I got Bessie with my other chickens from a farm store and she is one of my six chickens! The picture below is of her in something called a chicken saddle! She was wearing because her feathers were falling out! She doesn't wear it anymore though! :D Here is the one for the second picture: Name: Miss Piggy Age: 1 Breed: Potbelly Pig Other Info: We bought Miss Piggy from a vet that raises potbelly pigs. Miss Piggy and my other pigs like to eat just about anything but we like to feed ours healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. The picture of her is of her eating in the yard!

First Game!

Today I cheerleaded at my first basketball game! I have had practice everyday except Sundays and most Saturdays since the begining of January! The practice was all worth it though! It was alot of fun and I have another game Thursday and Saturday. :)

I am using Izzy's idea again and writing about a pet and then putting a picture. :) Today the pet is one of my horses named Sassy! Name: Sassy Age: 14 Breed: Buckskin Paint Quarter Horse Other Info: Sassy used to be one of my grandpa's horses and then he gave her to me for my birthday a few years ago. She is the best horse to ride when my family takes our horses on trail rides. Sassy has one blue eye and one brown eye and a few years ago another horse accidentally kicked her in her blue eye and now she is blind in that eye but she still sees fine for me to take on trail rides. I love Sassy so much!~ Sassy is the horse I am with in my profile picture and my blog background picture. Sassy grazing in the yard. :)

Other information: I saw Annie online being sold at a dog rescue sort of place because she had been dumped on the side of a road and rescued, her hair was cut un-even so she was shaved.
